View Full Version : 06 to 05 Front End. Is there really a difference?

I have been pondering changing over my 06 R to the 05 front end (spindles and hubs). For anyone out there that has done it or rode one how much difference is there? Is it worth spending the money to do it. I have never been on an 04 or 05 R so I don't know how much different they feel. I know my 06 is like driving a Mack truck sometimes. And doesn't handle near as good as my old 250R did. I ride almost all XC and I am probably going to a LT setup for next year and I was going to do all of this this winter. So give me some feedback. Thanks in advance

There is a difference in the spindles, if you hold the old and new up to each other, you can even see it.

Now I have made the switch but I have not put any seat time on it to really be able to tell! From what I saw it had to be some improvement.

I've made the switch and it's definitely worth the change. I bought my spindles and hubs off of ebay so it was pretty cheap going that route. All I race is XC and the turning is SOOO much better as well as the front end is not as twitchy at high speeds. I am a lot quicker in the tight sections of the course than I was before. Definitely recommend.

Great...I will start to collect the parts right away...I get a discount at my dealer so I will probably do all new.

I switched to 05 hubs and spindles. But i put on a LT front end at the same time so the difference was so huge i didnt notice the hubs and spindles.

We just gotta get hooked up and ride sometime....I would love to try it and see how much different it is....I think I'm going to go with the conversion no matter what. as may people I have seen do it and people talk about it that its so much better. I can't believe it can be any worse than an 06 with 22" Razr2's on it
