well i finally got a chance to ride it. the power was impressive and the handling matched that of the 250R. ofcourse the elka shocks worked awesome.
the trail wolf rear tires did hook up great.....i think they are way to low profile for trails. we compared the cannondale to 2R's rider's 310R with 18 in holeshots on it. he had around 1 to 2 more inches of ground clearence then i did. it did get me stuck on a slightly rutted creek crossing....lol i thought the power felt like the way a 2 stroke is...it will take some getting used too and a possible gear change. i couldnt lug it like my 400ex. all in all i think it did great.
one small oil leak at the oil filter cover...i believe it caused by a smashed rubber O ring.

ive had it for 2 weeks. no...dave and i will race....in private...lmao
if that's a cannibal you should be able to do a better wheelie than that, j/p. i wish i had a cannibal! in fact i'm thinking about selling my 250 because i never get to ride it. i go to the track less than once a month and the only place i ride in the winter is this 1/8 strip of grass that gets boring. and i can't ride anywhere in the spring or fall. if we move my dad said he'll hire some people to build me a track. or if we have some extra $ we'll build a track on the 6 acres we have for sale. i guess i'll just wait it out and have fun when i do go to the track.

ummm...thats mid way thru 3rd gear...on slick mud coming out of a 180 turn....trust me...more then enough to ride any wheely ya want;)

Kenny, I noticed when I was changing my oil last Monday that the O-ring in that filter cover seemed to not hold in the groove of the cover without some messing around with it. Good thing it doesn't leak though!
Have you changed oil yet? If you have, how about that oil inlet filter at the rear of the engine in front of the rear shock?!?! If you have an easy way of removing that why don't you tell me your secret:D I found that a 14mm socket, a swivel end along with about 3 long extensions and I was able to take it out seated right underneath the rear grab bar! Sheesh, now I know why everyone advised me that the filter is rarely ever dirty and is usually only inspected every couple of oil changes!
You're right though, it doesn't lug like the 400EX but that 4-stroke sure does sing at 10,000 RPM:devil

I always thought that the Dales were a bit overrated. But that was before I rode one. I tested a Speed just for kicks and giggles and found myself shelling out some jack for one. D@mn testosterone!

yeah its fine. the water got a lil deep and he didnt wanna spin water into the airbox so he shut her down. better to push it out then take a chance with taht high dollar mx motor...lol

How'd the black plastic hold up? My red plastic looks like it's an old 86 trx300 that hasn't been washed in years....any scratches?
On a side note, gotta change those bars! I think the steel bars look goofy on the Cannibal!

it wasnt ridin above 3/4 throttle......and we took 3 15 minute rides. sounds like proper break in according to cannondale.

well....i stopped ridin early because of break in....im not stupid enough to trash a $7000 dollar quad because i didnt break it in properly. it never missed a beat all day....and im sure 50 hours from now....it will still be kickin ***:macho and if it isnt....i will have the engine rebuilt or buy another one.....I DO NOT RIDE RAGGED OUT JUNK!!!

haha...no....i have had for 2 weeks now....i have followed breakin almost to the letter. was a lil more muddy then i wanted...but wasnt bad. it felt damn strong for only 1/2 to 3/4 throttle tho...lol
i cant do the oil until saturday...to busy this week.

its ok...i belive he is sincere ...i know he had trouble with his cdale. and dont ever think im trying to be better then anyone else....im not. and i sure as heck aint rich...lol but...whatever i ride....i take care of. and if i tear it up it gets replaced...or rebuilt.

Hi Kenney. Love ya babe......;) Anyway, the best way to get to the filter behind the motor is to take the plastic off, remove the gas tank, and undo the top shock mount. Then it is very easy to get to. If you don't want to remove all that you can take the front sprocket guard off. It will give you more room to get your hands behind the motor. Also, be careful with those steel filters. They can mash easy, and I know we are all grown folks, but it is very important to change the break in oil. Mine was a late 2002, and I had to change it myself. Also, the filter cover in kind of finicky. MAke sure the seal is lined up on the groove well, and make sure it has some oil on it so it is not dry. On a final note, the Tag T-2 bars are phenominal. I really love em.......peace....

one thing that suprised me was the hook up of this machine. The guys at the quadshop have it set up right. It soaked up harsh hits on my jump with no problems.
One time it quit in the air while I was pulling off a one hander, and I almost ate the bars. That was scarey for me, and I'll bet Kenny's heart sunk too :o

Everytime I've checked that filter its been clean. I'm gonna start checking it every 3 or 4 changes. I can do it from the right hand side with a wrench. Its not too bad once you do it a couple times.

did some cleanin tonight....i reckon all black plastic shows riding scratches:mad: oh well.....nuttin some polish wont take care of. it is a bit harder to clean the my 400 tho.
pro prep is good for new plastic ..hide lil scratches too ..try it been using it on her new plastic ...brings back shine ...specially on darker plastic ..
