There is a little black boot inside the bowl that goes around where the jets screw in. Does this have to be in there? It is starting to deteriorate and I thuink the pieces of it may be what has been clogging up my jets. Can I just leave it out or do I need to get a new one? Thanks!

Leave it out it does't have to be in there, i don't have that piece in mine and it runs fine, i don't know the purpose of it but don't worry about it.

It's intended purpose is to feed the jets thru the bottom of the bowl. Why they felt the need is a mystery to me. :)
I don't install it on the motors I send out. Never a problem. :)

Ok. Cleaned the carb & jets, cleaned tank & put fresh gas in. Still just cranks. No spark maybe? Where is the spark plug, and what is the part # for a new plug? Thanks!

Take the seat off and you can see the boot 4 the plug. I use a NGK BPR7HS, did you prime the carb? it runs off of vaccum so if you don't prime it after you have the bowl off it will take 4 ever to start. In the run position the valve works off of vaccum in the prime position the valve flows constant.

Yes I primed the carb. It was acting just the same before I took it apart so I thought the pilot jet was clogged since I had just went rounds with the main jet being clogged. It is getting fuel I am 99% sure so it must be spark. This plug has seen alot of bad gas and running problems so I bet that is my problem. Thanks!
