I have a 2001 Honda 440EX with a LRD full exhuast, I was wondering how to set the pump setting? Is it the screw that is vertical, and you can take off that cap directly on top to get access to it?

Also, on the bottom of the float bowl, there is a Bypass screw, what do i set that to? didnt say anything about that on the website...

--Off edlebrocks site--
Bore: 38mm
Recommend Needle for 440kit: 23-E @ 21 clicks
Alternate Needles: 21-E, 25-E
Pump Setting: 2 1/4 turns out

--

What does the 21 clicks mean on the needle, and where do you adjust the pump setting...?

yeah i did find out that any time you take the carb apart and if the needel is removed you would screw it back in all the way rich then turn it 21 clicks out, just remember that you will always start from rich and go to lean. also 1 click = 1/4 of a turn, right is lean and left is rich.you can also pm me any time for advice.

Can you use 93 octane gas with that carb on a 440 with an 11:1 piston?

the accelerator pump=bypass so if your looking to set it to factory settings get an 8mm wrench and a flat blade scewdriver.First off lo sen the jam nut on the bottom of your carb its on the the float bowl.second once the jam nut is loosened turn your screw in all the way to the right then turn it back out 2 1/4 turns out, that will be a factory setting but you'll probably need to go about 2 3/4 out or so.mine is out about 2 3/4 of a turn out, it will need adjusting to suit your engine, when doing the pump settings look at how well your engine preforms= look for bogging, stumbling, hesitation ect....remember that the screw is left to Lean out and right to richen.if you cant figure it out call me I'll give you my number if you pm me back and if I'm not mistaken we talked before and your accelerator pump wasn't working or broke or something like that.
