I personally like full fenders with trail riding, it keeps you alot cleaner(also drier) and more protection from the wind(when you are riding in the cold). For mx, while most mx bikes have extended axle and +2-+3 a-arms, fenders full or race cut don't do much. Trail riding you get filthy and/or soaked no matter what you do. My 250r's have race cut fullbore fenders, however my trail 250r will have full stock fenders. Some say that cut fenders jump better than full fenders, I have yet to notice any difference. I don't understand why people cut fenders, my guess is its mostly for looks.

One reason I cut my fenders is so that I could see the tires while riding and it allows eaiser access to internal parts at least on minis Hope that helps... oh yea and it looks cooler imo

I like to see my tires also, lets me see exatly where my limits are.
also on long wheelies if I sit down it makes it easier to peak around and see where im going.

I think 450r's are the only quads I don't like with cut fenders... They just have a funny shape to them already and it looks worse imo when they are cut. On 400ex's/YFZ's/LTR's I think it can look cool.
