i have been using maxima 927 @32:1 for a while.....used to used golden spectro for years...looking for any suggestion on 2 stroke oil.....not amsoil ..... i run vp c-12 ....the castor stuff seems to seperate at cooler temps. any ideas ?

I run klots benoil but I may switch to super techniplate when winter comes around, its supposed to hold up better in the cold. Both are great oil.

If you run amsoil I wouldn't run it at 50:1 like they recommend.

We've ran Amsoil Dominator in all of our two-stroke machines for years at 50:1, but after reading this article a while back, I've since changed to a 32:1 ratio. Although quite lengthy, it contains a lot of great information about pre-mix ratios. I would recommend that everyone that rides a two-stroke reads this. You can thank one of the moderators over at the "other R site" for sharing this. Your welcome.

That was an interesting read, and it makes sense. I used to run honda HP2 premix at 32:1, then switched to amsoil at 50:1. But I have to say that I did notice a difference in the power. I gained a little power, and my throttle response was better. The bike reved nicer, and it even had a better tone to it.

I will keep that thread in mind when I get my quad running again, and I will experiment more with jetting, and oil ratios.

Not sure of the ratio, but it is 10oz to 5gal. It is called Dumonde-Tech. It is a castor oil.

that ratio is something like 60:1, that is really lean with oil. I thought 50:1 was lean(12.8/5 gallon, someting like that).

iused to run golden spectro 12 oz/4-5 gallons....never had a problem ..its just hard to find.....are klotz castor based?

the r50 and kl100 is about 20%
