on 400ex stock shocks, can you adjust the height of them to raise or lowert the quad? i was in the how to area and seen something about shocks and it made it sound like you can raise n lower your quad with the settings on them, if so, how do you raise and lower them?

No, I dont think you can adjust ride height on stock 400 shocks. On 450 shocks, you can somewhat, but what most people do to lower them cheaply is to buy relocator brackets for the shocks. Look on ebay, or in a mag or something. If you wanted to make it sit a lot lower and you never jump it, slap some 300ex shocks on it. It'll look funky, but it is effective.

yes stock 400ex shocks are adjustable as far as ride height goes. on the bottom of the shock there is a preload collar which can be turned to raise or lower the overal height of the quad.

thanks, ill first try to lower the collar, if that doesnt owrk, ill try and get some 300ex shocks, i made some front lowering brackets, but it isnt low enough, and i dont wanna buy top brackets cuz i heard they mess ur shocks up to move the topsof the shocks. i mainly need to lower my rear end some.
