I know you said you tried the sledge, but what I did on mine was soak it in penetrating oil. PB Blaster does a good job or something like that product, and soak it with your fourwheeler on blocks on one side so that its sitting at an angle. Spray it several times, then let it sit overnight. Then get your cheater bar out, take off your brake pedal spring, and try to turn it. If you can get it to spin inside the bushing, it will come out. then proceed with the sledge. If that doesn't work, save yourself the time, and take your subframe off so you can get a sawzall in there, and cut it between the swingarm on both sides of the motor. careful not to mess up the motor bushing, and you may have to again cut on the insides of the frame.

i stood mine on the side and soaked the bolt with pb blaster for 3 or 4 days spraying it 3 or 4 times a day. then i jacked it up taking the weight off the rear tires and hit it with a sledge, came out no problem

I didn't think I was the only one to take time to try that. Mine came out. It jst had a mushroomed end after it finally broke loose.

ok ive been spraying penatrating oil down in it. i took the airbox out so i could get in at it. i still cant get it to break free though.ill try again in about an hour. there is no pressure on it at all at the moment i have no axle or shock and its sitting on a milk crate. i have the full quad up oin a jack stand.ill get it out now i have to order a new swinger bolt yay. imma weld the end shut on it and put a grease zerk in it.

My 450R had this problem, I got it broke free in the motor, but the bushings were seized to the bolt. I had an impact spinning the bolt with heat being applied from a torch and it was being beatin with a BFH all simultaneously and it still wouldn't budge. Cut it on both sides of the motor with a torch and all individual pieces slid right out. I wouldn't try hitting it very hard with the hammer as it could possibly crack the cases. I've replaced mine with a new swinger bolt that has been molycoated.

Hes got good advice. I've never had mine stuck in the cases too bad. I did have mine chew up the swinger bearings and thats why i ended up with the 450 swingarm. It was actually easier to find one compared to a 400 swingarm.
