Highest HP EX

I am going to rebuilt my motor and want more horsepower.I ride mostly dunes and dependabilty is an issue.I would like to get 40 HP.

or a hotrods 460 stroker. franky G is running one of those. he said his hit like 43 hp on the dyno

A 460 stroker should put out a healthy 46hp not 43, my 440 is 42hp on the dyno.

Thanks! I got some work to do. I wish there was a dyno avail so I can see that the money im putting in my 400 ex is paying off...but I dont...so I guess Ill just have to assume and be happy.

i doubt a 440 makes 42 and a 460 makes 46 because the 450's only make 38 and there high performance liquid cooled engines

Microsoft Paint. He's saying it looks made-up which it kinda does. AFAIK, all SuperFlow dynos use WinDyn software.

Also, in another thread you said it was a Dynojet dyno. :ermm:

HP means nothing without a tq curve, also how about an A/F chart, pretty useless without that as well.


HP is just a mathematical figure derived from Torque, so I want to see the torque curve. Overlap the HP curve and the TQ curve you should have if its a true dyno run and anyone who knows anything about HP and TQ will know right away if its real or not.;)

That is a real dyno chart! I have a seriously ported head, stage 2 Hot Cam, DR PC4000 cylinder with a 11.5:1 Wiseco piston, Pro Flow intake and WB pro-meg exhaust. This engine believe it or not makes 42 HP. Looks like paint, HA! I've never even tried paint.

I never said I didn't believe you, and those power numbers seem very realistic, its just anyone who reads dynos could care less about horsepower, I want to see the tq graph!! Jeesh!:scary:

I don't know. That graph looks fishy to me. I'm not talking about what the peak number says--that's not what's driving my scepticism.

Things that make me suspicious---->

--Why is there no torque curve?
--The graph doesn't appear to be printed using any dyno software I've ever seen. If this was a SuperFlow dyno then why wasn't their software used?
--I've never seen a dyno graph that registered starting 0 HP.
--I've never seen a dyno graph that registered a figure below the idle speed of the engine (most runs start at least 1000rpm above the idle speed).
--6000rpm is an unusual location for peak HP on a 40+ HP 400EX.
--Why does the Y-axis go from 0 to 10 and then starts going by 5s?
--Why is there more space between the 10hp line and the 15hp line then there is between the other lines? They all seem a little different--what computer program is going to do that??

If I took my ATV to a shop to have it dyno'd and they gave me that graph I'd have a lot of questions. It just doesn't add up.

Look, I had this quad dyno'd and said the engine makes 42hp. He gave me the chart and said here you go. Moving on from things, Idk what software their using. Call and ask. I just love the fact my motor makes 42hp, that is if they are telling the truth.:confused:

Either way the bike rips im sure...you should be happy. If you can prove what they gave you is crap, then You might have some free dyno runs DUE! :)

and if you throw a pipe on there the bike could jump as much as 10 HP...they are super corked up stock and running a much more mild cam dude
