je piston ring help

which rings go where on a je piston? Im putting in a 416 11:1 and i have two thick rings, one is black, one is a copper color, then i have this copper color zig zag ring and two really thin rings.

unless you got it used, it should have come with instructions.

Surprised the kit didn't come with instructions... Was there anything on the sleeves the rings came in?

The only thing I can help with is...

The zig zag ring goes between the two thin rings in the third slot from the top of the piston.

For the other two call JE or whoever you bought the kit from unless you can only get ahold a sales person, don't trust them with tech questions.

the copper colored ring is the top ring, the black one is the second and both install with their markings facing up. when you install the oil scrapers (the zig zag and 2 thin rings) install the zig zag ring first and then the others. also make sure the ends butt together, not overlap. also check your endgaps on the 1st and 2nd rings, .004" per inch of bore. in your case you'll want .014".

Don't forget to stagger your ring gaps either.
