Sounds pretty throaty but you sacrifice a lot not having duals. The 5.4 is a 330 ci btw, the 5.8 is the 351 ci ;) I have a single Flowmaster 40 single in/dual out with high flow cats on my 99 5.4 F-150 and i'm pretty happy with the sound as is.

I beliveThe new 5.4L are 330 and the new 4.6L are 283 The older 5.4L are 351 and the older 4.6L are 302.

"The 351W was produced from 1969 to 1997. It was installed in everything from Mustangs to the full-size cars, and all the way up to the F350. It has been one of Ford's most successful engines. "

My truck has a Windsor 351, matter of fact its from Canada as well.

The truck sounds nice but like nacsmxer said, the 351 is a 5.8 and also a 302 is a 5.0. When the next generation ford trucks were released in 1997 ford replaced the 5.8 L 351ci with the triton 5.4 L 330ci, but anyways just trying to help ya out.

Ehh you're still kinda all over the map with those numbers. The 5.8L 351 cu in pushrod motor ended production in the F-150's in 1996. In 1997, with the complete redesign of the F-series platform, Ford did away with the old technology pushrod motors and replaced the 5.8L 351 with the 5.4L 330 cu in Triton SOHC modular motor. The old 5.0L 302 cu in option was replaced with the 4.6L 281 cu in Triton SOHC modular motor.

No matter how you put it, cubic inch displacement always has a direct conversion over to liters. A 5.4L cannot be 351 cu in in the older engines and 330 cu in in the newer ones it is a physical impossibility lol. A 5.0L Ford will always be a 302 and a 4.6L will always be a 281. Our 5.4L engines may be produced in Windsor, Canada but that does not make it the famed 351 Windsor motor last seen in 1996 and older F-150's.

I'm running a single flowmaster super 40 too. I took my cat off though, just put a piece of 3 inch pipe in it's place and had it dump infront of the rear wheel. It has a nice tone to it, I'll re do it and do duals and headers later down the road though.
