i have played around with the jetting alot. right now i have a 45 pilot. 180 main. air box lid off. high compression piston. hfm silencer, stock header. runs great 1,2,3,4. as soon as i shift into fith gear it starts cutting out. low end and hight end. anywhere in the gear it cuts out. no one i go to seems to know what to do. its not the rev limiter i know that much. i see alot of people are running 165 and 170 mains. when i had a 175 main it ran like crap in 4th and 5th. not sure what to do.

Thats strange, right off the bat I would have guessed you were rich. In my experience puttin in a higher compression piston often requires a smaller main jet. Our bike runs great with a 168mj.

so instead of going up i should go down with my main jet then. thats what everyone seems to have in theres. i guess ill try that.

I think the 180 might be too rich... I would try a 168/170 and see how she runs

Sounds like ur rich. When my bikes rich the higher load gears will act weird/cut out in some situations.

This happened to me last month, my bike was still jetted for the winter time, and it was raining out, so the bike was running SUPER rich and when I was going through whoops in a high gear the on/off load of the whoops made it cut out even in an over rev.
Dropped 1 jet size and it ran perfect.
