it wont work because 04-05 has a piston diamter of 94mm and the 06s have a 96mm piston

04/05 and 06 parts won't interchange!

Not to mention the stoke is different too :P

Everythings way diff, I doubt the cylinder would even bolt to the cases because of the different bore.

better off to get another 04/05 bottom end or use yours for parts and pick up a whole other engine

you are better off sending it to chad502ex and get a sick powerful motor made out of it. the crfs also have a bore off 96mm. chad has made huge monsters that can be around 70hp. i am not sure if he built the turbo 530r i saw images off but that was a preety sick quad. it had over 120hp. and that shows you the sky is the limit.

why exactly does it not work? the bore size wouldnt matter that much because the 05 is smaller. theres only a 2mm differance. theres probably is enough gasket there to cover that. and the stroke isnt that much differant (not sure what the differance is) but i think it is shorter.(tell me if im wrong) which would destroke it . which would let it rev higher and more respondsive. the only reasons i see it not working if the bolt patteran is differant or the ports or dails dont line up or something like the head is shorter so timing chain dosent tighten. if the tensioners are differant. something in that nature. not saying you guys are wrong so dont take it wrong. all you guys are right there are differances in what yall say. but i was just woundering if anybody knows exactly why it wouldnt work . like somebody who has tried it or some body that has messed with both motors to know exactly. i know the 05 motor pretty good, but not the 06's and up. thanks

you can put a 06 head on a 05

it takes alittle modding though
