cam in a 400ex

does a cam do anything in a piped and jetted 400ex? what type of gains should be expected? or should i do the 440 kit with the cam? my main question is what about just the cam though, because most people will say the kit. is a cam alone any good or a waste of money without the engine built?

A cam will gain you a bit of power just don't go with Long duration cam those are for bigger bores, I'd go with the 440 kit if you want the most power from your cam. Trust me it's not a waste of money.
