I'm in the market for a new carb. but can't figure which one to use. I don't plan on overboring the motor. I have an "aggresive" Sparks racing drop in cam, Yoshi. comp. exhaust, pingry airbox with K&N filter, and a W.B. rev box. Any suggestions on which carb. would work best for me. I don't race, but ride very aggresivly and love the wide open sand dunes. Thanks to all who reply

The most popular is the 39mm Kehin FCR for sure. I think most of the Guys and Engine Builders prefer them and plus they come Stock on the YZ450f and the CRF450f so you know they are good. I would get the FCR. Go to Sparks Racing (http://www.sparksracing.com) for more info.

Actually Warrior, the YZ450F and CRF450R come w/ the FCR40mm carb..and you can get a 40mm FCR for cheaper than the FCR39mm,i seen a new FCR40mm for $350

P.S. the 426F came w/ a 39mm though...

And everyone, its a CRF450R not F, F is Yamaha's....

Well I didn`t mean the size I just meant that both Honda and Yamaha used the FCR Carbs. I wonder how the 40mm would work on a 400? If it`s only $350 I surprised Guys aren`t using it over the 39.

My bad on the F thing. I was just thinking Yamaha. I saw a nice new CRF450R today though.

Just curious if any of you are using the FCR39mm on a stock bore with a cam?

Why I ask is that since the motor isnt moving that much more air how much of a benefit is the larger bore carb?

Is the stk carb so restictive that it will not flow enough air and runs too rich for this type of motor mods?

No flame just curious.

And where did you see the FCR40mm at that price, and does it accept the stk ex throttle cable?
