All right. I am redoing my whole rear end (swing arm, axle bearing carrier, hubs, shock, brake system, pivot bolt etc...) and was wondering if this is a good price for the parts. It is gonna total up to around 800 without the shipping charges. Do you think that is a good price. The parts came off of an 05 300ex and is going on an 87 250x. The parts are like almost brand new. Does 800 with out shipping sound right to you guys?

Thats a lot of money for used parts, regardless of how good they look. You can go with a 450r setup for about $300.

Would that work on a 250x? Wouldn't I have to modify it?

Yes it will work on your 250x.it bolts up with the only mods is welding a set of tabs for the linkage. There is a guy on here that bolted his on instead of welding. The 450r swinger is so much lighter because its aluminum instead of steel.Plus its longer to boot.Remember losing weight is the same as adding hp;)

Couldn't I just buy the whole setup (swingarm, shock, linkage) and just bolt the swing arm on to the frame and then put the shock on the 450r swinger so basically it would be like a whole 450r rear end. If the 450r shock bolts on the 450r swinger then I wouldn't have to make any changes right.

You would only need the swinger and linkage and axle etc.The 450 shock wont fit, you'll have to use a 250 shock with a remote resv. They are a dime a dozen.

what about a 01 raptor rear shock with remote res without the linkage, since its for a big heavy quad and its gonna go on a light 300ex, will it handle the load the swing arm will place without the linkage?

will it sit right?

is the 450 swinger any longer than the 400's?

Im sure it could be made to work but the 450r swinger needs a linkage to work properly because of where the shock bolts to,it would be laid down to far plus the rear of the quad could be too low,try it and see thats all.

if the 450r rear shock was turned around so the resorvoir faced down instead of up, will it fit down there, dont have my frame with me so i cant remember what would be there, Im thinking intake tube from air box to engine but not sure? maybe it wont fit either way. so then 250r shock is the way ill probably go because raptor rears arent real cheap.

What about brakes? IM looking to do this swap and will probably go with a whole rear end of a 450r (swing arm, carrier, axle) Can I still use the stock 250x set up or do I need to use a 450r disk, caliper?
