Tulsa also buried a Plymouth Prowler back in 1998. I bet they now wish it was sealed in a vault above ground.

"I'll tell you what, she's a mess. Look at her," said legendary hot rod builder Boyd Coddington, who was unable to start the thing up as planned.

hah that things beat. cool idea still.

It is pretty rusted but from the pictures I've seen it looks like it's just surface rust which is absolutely amazing, you would figure the quaters, rockers, bottom of the doors and fenders would be gone!

I live outside Tulsa and watched the unveiling last night live, it was very disappointing to see the condition of the car, especially with so many people who came from all over the world to witness this. Obviously if you think about it, they just did not have the technology in '57 to complete seal something this size under ground. There were a ton of other artifacts buried with the car too, including a time capsule they cut open and it was in mint condition. The first thing they pulled out was a folded american flag, with 47 stars on it, very cool.

"Crews removed a multilayered protective wrapping caked with red mud, revealing a vintage vehicle that was covered in rust and wouldn't crank."

Wouldn't crank? Is the phrase "no **** Sherlock" due here? lol

That's right. I was just now informed that
the Prowler was sealed in an air-tight vault inside the Centennial Park building, not under ground, and all of the lubes were replaced with synthetic. It will be returned to whoever owns Chrysler in 2048.
