I recently just purchased a webcam that required shortened guides, adj timing gear and double valve springs. I am degreeing in the camshaft now and when got all degrees dialed in for intake and exhaust now the valves are hitting the piston. The piston needs to be milled to .065" to meet clearence. Has anyone had any clearence issue with the wiseco pistons? I was running a 13.5 JE before with a CRF cam and didn't hvae this issue at all.

It's a completely new motor. New crank assembly w/update, all new bearings/seals, brand new 13.1 Wiseco, new Web 943/723 cam, new kibblewhite valves ss, kibblewhite double valve spring kit.

If anyone has had this same problem or experience with this let me know. Thanks.

The issues your having are because of the cam, not the piston. I run the Wiseco 13.5-1 with a stage 2 Hotcam with no trouble. You just need to flycut the piston for that cam.

I also run a Wiseco/Baldwin 14.1 and a Hotcams 3 and have plenty of clearance.

Enouth that Im going to mill the some to get me to the 15.1 area.

Its the came you are using. What cam is it?

493/729 Web cam is which one I have. I talked to Web they said to redo the degreeing again. It seems like it just out of timing. I also talked to Wiseco and you can only mill or flycut the reliefs like .020"

I run that same cam in my '06 Trx522R. 14:1 with only .042" squish and plenty of piston to valve clearance. I'd check my degreeing again. Are you checking with Zero valve lash? What side are you tight on? Intake or exhaust?

what year of bike is it? like what was stated earlier you may have to get the piston flycut to get the desired clearances.

Web told me that the timing is probably off..... they said to redo the degreeing junk or try stock cam sprocket and go from there.

I did the degreeing process again and this time it cleared with no problems. amazing.

I'm pretty anxious to see how this setup proforms.
