I just got done installing a new Pioneer head unit in my F350 crew cab.I also installed Polk Audio 6 1/2's in the doors and Polk 6x8's in the rear. Now I need some bass.I am not looking to blow the windshield out of it....I just need some bass to go with the rest of the system.I have alot of room behind the rear seat and was thinking about 2 Bazooka tubes and a small 2 channel amp to drive them.Or are the Bazookas junk?Any input from you audio guys is appreciated. The last system I had consisted of 2 Alpine v-12's and a pair of 12" kickers.I am looking for somethig a little less powerful this time around :)

I'd go with a pair of high wattage 10's and a nice amp for what you're looking for. I have a Pioneer deck with a pair of Audiobahn 800w rms woofers and a Sony 1200w amp in my F-150 which suits my needs just fine. Sure I can crank them up and bump like mad but its really not my thing....I just wanted them for the extra thump and sound experience over stock.

I'm not really with the times these days on the latest setups but I know JL audio (w7 anyone?), Alpine, Audiobahn, etc all have some nice equipment to offer.

I got my dual downfire underseat box from Subbox.net, they make a variety of underseat/behind seat configurations for our trucks.

Bazooka tubes are a nice compact solution for a little thump. Just be sure to aim them at the corners of the cab and strap them down. Installation make a good bit of difference w/ those.

You say you don't want too much so a JL W7 is gonna be overkill.

bazookas are weak and not very crisp sound IMO. they are ok cheap options but i would put a few more bucks into it and get quality. i have a JL 10"...not sure what exact model with a 400w amp pushing it and it thumps plenty. it gives you a nice crisp sound and if you want to turn it up you can hurt your ears too. just be real careful with buying off the internet or ebay with stereo stuff. you can find it REAL cheap on ebay but they consider it grey market product which means you don't get any warranties or if the company offers one on the site it is hard to get them to honor it. go thru a real store, your going to pay more, but you will get alot better service.

those subs are for a really small space, and ive heard they can get down, u can have a 12" sub in your truck just turn the amp down, if u want to jam hard get a amp with the remote gain knob and you have full control of the gain, i have 4 12's in my ranger and i keep my gain down and they dont jam hard untill i have the volume up loud or i turn the gain up

so i say 2 10's or 12's and a nice 4 channel amp to run your subs AND highends, setup right it will sound nice

i say a pair of nice 10's or 12's. If your not looking for too much bass then i would say go with the 10's. You can get a box that will hold 2 10's that will fit right under your back seat so you lose no room. and you can put your amp behind the seat since you said you had room. Check out JL audio subs!

here is my setup in my f150:

I have 3 Jl 6w0's in my 2500HD behind the seat the box is small and compact 30in wide and it hits just as good as a pair of 10's, like you said i just wanted some bass not to drive down the street and show off. I had a 8in bazooka tube and it was good it all depends on how you want your sound.

Exactly, so anything over a single 10" is gonna be more than you want.

Its like recommending a quad. How many times do you see a 450 recommended like its the only quad out there that is worth buying. I'm a recreational rider, I don't race, just woods and trails. For me a 450 is not what I want at all. Too fast, too much maintenance required, etc. Hell even the 250ex is a fun woods machine.

This is about what you want. I'd say go Bazooka and be done w/ it. They are small and compact, plus you don't need to worry about boxes. Many even have built in amps. And the built in amp can run itself and slave a second non-powered tub so it powers both.

Thanks for the input guys.I am very pleased with the way the Polks sound it just needs that "hit" to complete the system. If I was to go with a single 10" sub, what sub/amp would you reccomend?I see alot of you like the JL subs.
If I was to go with bazooka, which would be best, one large one or 2 smaller ones firing into each rear corner behind the seat?

I have been recommending the Bazooka because its a nice compact all in one system. Personally I think JL blows them out of the water. I have a pair of JL 8w3s in an extended cab ranger on a Alpine M350 amp. It hits about 118db .... not to loud, but jams pretty good.

I would say a pair of 8" L7 kickers in a sealed box with a kicker amp to match.
