I like the bumper idea. You could also get him some shock covers pretty cheap also to go along with. Helps dress it up and keep mud out of the shock seals.

I like the AC Stadium's the best on the 300ex's.

AC does make a bumper for the 300. They look good too! If you want to go cheaper, there is some bumpers on Ebay that usually stay under 60 bucks or so, but they don't look as nice.
