Does anyone know a company that makes subframes for the 400ex that still have the battery mounts on the side like stock would have? I have finally had it with mounting my battery in the airbox. I have broken it for the last time. I hate it when you are leading a race and DNF because of aluminum airboxes breaking or shorting some wire out because you ripped it landing from a jump. Mo:mad:

Why don't you just use the stock one? A few gussets and beefing up, it will handle to rough stuff. You can pick them up pretty cheap too.

Lonestar, TMM, and Laeger used to not sure if you could find one or not. Maybe Herrmann would make one for you.

if ya can get a aftermarket sub that isnt powdercoated or chromed...i wouldnt think it would be too hard to have the battery tray made for that sub? just an idea.

Oh and Houser is suppose to be working on a 400ex Frame so maybe they could get you a Subframe.

This is the 3rd box I have exploded and the second time I was in the lead that I had to pull off. I have used three different style boxes. If you race MX and do it with your rear shock a little softer than most you cant win. I soften mine to plow through whoop sections faster and lose out every time. I will check with these companies and see what they can do. Thanks guys for the help. My two cents the aluminum isnt worth the problems. But what the heck do I know?????

What brand of airboxes have you broken?

That wouldnt be fair to start name calling them. Plus I am sure it would just start a flame contest that I dont feel like getting into with anyone. Its not worth it. I will just swallow my pride, and it looks like my wallet by the cost of an aftermarket subframe, and get a new much sturdier setup. Thanks for the ideas and help guys. Mo:D
