Need some help.. Whats my 440ex worth?

Depends mostly on area but I'd say between $2500 and $2800, but some more engine details would help.

I got it on a trade. All I know about it is It's a 440 w/ a stage two hot cam all with about 40 hours on it.

I'd say more than that, but the main thing is where are you located and what is the demand where you are. Another part of it (if your trying to sell) is how long you can wait to sell it. My personal appraisal would be 3000-3200, but it's all about location.

I was aiming high, I think he would have to wait a bit to get the $2500. Its decent looking, could probably be shined up a bit better, but theres not really a whole lot of expensive stuff on it. Stock suspension components dont bring a lot of dough. Again the 440 kit could just be a cylinder and piston which is cheap, thats why I asked what else was done to it.

I guess they just go for more down here than more upstate, and your right about no suspension upgrades. But the already completed engine work, hotcam, hinson clutch (full kit i'm assuming) and overall good-shape bike to me would be worth around at least 2800. I personally would put an asking price of 3000 and see responses i get.

edit: and on long island a stock 400ex (older body) will go for around 2200-2400 depending on condition.

I just looked through the cycle trader and there are stock 2003's going for $3000 here...

Ohh and fwiw, it's usually ALOT cleaner than that, I had just got done riding.

i had an 02 440 that had aftermarket plastic 2wk old full hmf 450r shocks ported polish head and alot more stuf, 2000. sure i couldve gotten more, but the next day i was headed to get this bad mother shut your mouth:eek:
