I have heard of people spraying wd-40 on their bikes to make tham shine and wanted more info on that. You was the bike then spray it on and leave it? or do you spray it on let it sit and wash it off. Does sand stick to it?

Thanks,

I've heard of people using it so mud don't stick. But DW-40 attracks dirt so I don't know how long it will stay shiny for.

and yes it will keep mud from sticking to bad , i don't think sand will stick to it but dust will.

WD will keep mud from sticking, and it WILL make your plastic shine better. But, just spray some Armor-All on your plastics and wipe it off. Does the same thing, and Armor all lasts longer.

I paint my plastic with clear coat before. It was real shine for a few days than it started to look like dirt or something. I don't recommen it.

well, i found a little sand in my airboxdrand tube and tryed it. I sprayed my engine with the wd-40 and let it sit for a day and tossed it on and sure enough it stuck like crazy. It washed easy enough. I'm going to try spraying the wd-40 on and washing it off then do my sand trick, hopefully the shine will stay but the stickyness wont.

I use armor all on my plastics, it makes them shine great and lasts pretty long too. Until you get them all muddy...

Don't spray WD-40 on your engine... When it gets warm, you'll be smelling the burning WD-40 all freak'n day. Best thing I've found to clean up the engine is the Maxima spray cleaner/degreaser. That stuff will clean up anything (does a good job on muddy mx boots too!!).

The turtle wax spray works very well for keeping the plastic bright and shiney. It even helps cover up any scratches. I rode all weekend at Winchester Bay, and no sand stuck to my plastic. I guess that it works good enough for me.

I have tried them all and 1/4 Mop n Glo and 3/4 water works the best for me. It makes it shiny and mud washes away easier.
As far as wd40, dust sticks to it real bad and Armol All puts silicone all over your parts which makes them fisheye if you ever need to paint them.

I USE THE CAR WASH ENGINE DEGREASER OVER THE ENTIRE MACHINE (SOMETIMES IT IS LABELED AS TIRE CLEANER)AND RINSE WITH THE WAX SETTING.
THEN I USE A NO TOUCH FOAMING TIRE CLEANER(IN A CAN) ALL OVER IT AND WIPE IT DOWN A FEW MINUTES LATER.........WARNING: IT LOOKS REAL GOOD BUT IT CAN GET SLIPPERY ESPECIALLY THE GRIPS,BRAKES, AND SEAT!!!!!! :D
