ya can have your crank rebuilt for about 200.00 (+/-) using a pro-X rod. depending on your local shops labor rate and the cost of the rod. service honda has an OEM crank avail for around 259.35 for the 87-89 years.

ps if ya decide to go the rebuild route. make sure that the builder specializes in cycle (250R) cranks. not everyone can build them "right"

pm me if ya cant or dont have anyone local

it'll likely cost you more in labor and parts to rebuild a used one that finding a good used one that you want or maybe a hot rod one.

are ya going with the "hot rod" crank because its the cheepest route for you?

well, i decided to go with the hot rod becuase its the easiest. i dont have to ship it out and wait to get it back and make sure the engine builder is good, (i dont know any locally). it isnt the cheapest im sure. but for the money and the least hassle, i will go with them. i would much rather go with a stock crank but they are way out of my price range. if you know of any thing else, let me know! thanks

price and convenience isnt always the only thing to consider when it comes to the crank. after all its the most stressed part of the engine and therefor corners shouldnt be cut. its up to you.

I haven't had any problems running hot rod connecting rods or even full hot rod crank assemblys.

What problems have you guys encountered?

only an OEM or an OEM that is rebuilt with pro-X parts and done by a specialists is the only thing going in my engines.
