Our sport is getting to the point where you can pick your favorite color and your good to go.
YFZ450-
Super nibble, awesome handling, and crisp looks and ok reliability.
Great on MX tracks, wide trails and pits/dunes.
450R-
Smooth power, ok looks, alright handling and good reliability.
Great on MX tracks, XC, narrow trails.

i dont agree with you in the 450r is better in the narrow trails and xc conditions than a yfz. 3 of my friends ride 450rs i have a yfz. mine sits lower and has MUCH softer shocks and in the woods its great. with it being lower, i can manuver it great it narrow trails and put the pressure on my buddies with hondas. i love mine for trails much better than a 450r hands down.

Only way to truly tell is to ride them both.
Now a days there all great machines.
Ride them all. See which one fits you better and make a educated guess.
Some days I feel like I was faster back when on my warrior then I am on my 400:o

The yamaha is .001 inches wider there for it has MUCH better handling. And due to the twin turbo, the powerband is like 3 or 4 gears long. Its rediculous.

To me the yfz is huge, takes more to ride it and just seems bigger.
I'll never get a 4 joke but if I did I'd get the 450r.

the yfz is the smallest body wise and its set up to naturally be more comfortable to people under 6'
