who still races 250r's?

how many of you still race a 250r in big events or your local mx tracks? post pics if you have any. im trying to debate on makin my stock R frame a hybrid 4 stroke or stayin a 2 stroke. help me decide lol.

I think the only answer you'll get here is don't hack up a stock 250R frame because fourstroke motors don't really fit. Should just buy a hybrid frame and move all your stuff over to it.

same here, lsr sells frames that will do just that, you can use all your stock/aftermarket stuff, but use a frame that was designed for a 4 stroke motor. I think they require you to use their swingarm.

stick with the 2 stroke. to me the 4 strokes are just a fad, pound for pound the 250R is the better quad

heres wut mine currently looks like. ok you guys were right spray cans suck. i tore it down and repainted with epoxy and clear coat out of a gun. it looks alot bnetter and its about as hard as anything out there. looks so much better and even too.

I race mine usually once a week, twice when we run at another track. Stock bore, 40 over with some good port work usually gets the job done.

I will still race mine once or twice a year, usually in the local night race series. My main race quad is a 450R though. If all my races were under 100 miles, I think I would race the 250R more often. The 250R just seems to wear me out more then the 450R.

i love seeing people still riding/racing the 250rs...its a shame they were forced out the way they were :rolleyes:

but i think all the 4 stroke guys know if there was a open class, all the pros would be runign 330-350 PV Rs!

yeah, i was lookin in to racin a 250r in mx but i was talkin to a guy and he told me that the 250's are very limited to what you can do. alot of classes you cant run them in, like in the open class and one other that he knew of off hand, he didnkt say much about xc tho...

my friend says that you can race a 250r in your age class, open, pro am and the 250 a/b/c classes. Its not like it used to be, everybody raced a 250r then.

whats the difference in pro am and pro? i never understood that... what are the age classes.. age by like years what to what... im turnin 16 at the end of next month... i was thinkin about buyin a 250r since there fast and cheaper... well for me they would be cheaper...

I race my R the thing about racing my R is I can MX race , Round track race , Drag race and TT race where you cant really do all this on a four banger and be up front .

I did mostly MX until the last 2 years. Started doing XC in Sioux city, IA and raced the Iowa Harescramble series last year.

Haven't made a race yet this year. Not enough time or money. Got out of shape too.

Currently set up for XC now. Nice in the tight stuff and fast on open terrain. Play around with gearing.
