Any time frame for when dealers will get them?

After seeing all the pics I will have the mx version in my garage. The frame is super beefy. and as with all KTM's the parts are top of the line. This thing is going to push all the other sport 450's to step it up.

Im impressed, ive always liked ktm dirtbikes. I dont think they will dissapoint with there first atvs.

By looking at the 450xc is it just me or does it look like the 450mx will be the same quad just wider and diff shock springs/valving?

I believe the same thing. I think it may come with wider a-arms/axle and different vavling in the shocks as well as mx based tires, and possibly beadlocks in the rear. That just my feeling, we will have to wait to see.

Yeah nice beadlock rims and some razr mx tires stock would be awesome! you wouldnt have to do a single thing to it. Thats the way other manufactors should be making atvs now.

I really like it....The frame and some of the bodylines resemble the LTRs.... I am really diggin it though.....It may cost a lil more but you what they say "you get what you pay for"....

I know it will cost more initially than most other quads cost, but thats alright with me. I would rather finance for the larger sum and put more money down. It's easier to get the wife on board that way. Otherwise all of my buy a part here and another there she eventually starts getting a little angry when she sees the UPS man three times a week.

I think this is the 1st quad that a true racer really don't need to change anything, well mayby beadlocks. No need for a-arms or a swinger and axle, can't get much better shocks, has a anti-vibe stem (well it looks like it does), tether, 2 stage cdi, very good tires, but mayby Razr2 in front, allready has 10hp more then any other. Looks like a Polaris style rear skid which are awesome, stainless steel brake lines and wave rotors. So all it basicly needs is nerfs, a better front bumber and grab bar, handguards, and your set to race. I would pay $9000 for that.

Looks like the last 3 machines (Kawi, Canam,KTM) all have some good features, if only you could combine the best parts and make a super sick quad.

I hope Honda realizes this and steps it up as well!!!!!!!!

Doesn't look like they went with anything "revolutionary", but stuck with the tried and true basics.

Nothing wrong with that. :)

The only thing I don't necessirally like is how square/wide the lower a-arm mounting points are across the front. It's almost like the old LT250R or Mohave front end.

The rest of it looks very clean.

But, that's just a visual judgment. Only real world tests will tell if the front end gemometry has been compromised or not.

It looks a great bike to me.

Everything looks properley done. Nothing fancy or confusing. hex/torq bolts as standard.

I like how they have stepped it up with aftermarket parts as standard. I expect Twin Air filter as standard as most other KTm bikes comes with them. Akrapovic will no doubt already have an exhaust ready to sell.

It doesn't look like much needs to be done. Tidy up wiring harness when you remove the light and the black box off the bars. Nice orange renthal bar pad wouldn't go amiss.

The front plastics are unboltable so no need for cutting. I also like how both sides of the airbox are removable with a couple of self-tapping screws.

Just a little modifying idea for any of you guys that buy the bike. On the rear hubs there looks like there is about a 1 inch spacer on the outside. Maybe just switch it to the inside to gain a couple of inches!

Think there is any chance that the XC and MX axles are the same and they just have the spacers flip flopped?

I now have a new, second favorite quad....

I like the take off on the old LT plastics they did. Modern and new with a nod at the original with the pulled back fronts and minimal rears.

Digging the matte black frame....:macho

My order of 450's now stands as...

Can-Am
KTM
Honda
Suzuki
Kawasaki
and
Yamaha

If the DS 450 wasn't comming out or wasn't as advanced as it is....I'd be putting a deposit on the KTM.

also another shot.
I like the fact that they are willing to add that weight with the 350lb game going on.Some will complain about 2lbs but i'll take + aprox 2lb and that axel thanks.

That bike is sick set up for TT. The ktm looks the best out of all 6 of the 450's. It's going to be nice all I have to do is lower it and put a sway bar on to compete at the track.

Well there are some things that are making this my next machine

NO LINK SUSPENSION!!!! wow I have been waiting for this to hit the scene again!

FACTORY KILLSWITCH!!!! about time somebody though about safety!

EASY VALVE ADJUSTMENTS!!! I am sick of the ltr having to pull the damn tank and mess with the timing chain and cams!

SHOCKS/adjustable a arms/steel swing arm!!!!need I say more?

AXLE LOCK NUT!! why was that so hard for the rest of the manufactures?

ANTI VIBE STEM!! see above comment^^

Great job KTM!!! way to do the homework! If the MXer is as well set up as the XC then I will be on orange thats for sure!

Looks wise, it's ok, nothing to stricking. The rear fenders are ugly , the light can't be easily hidden/removed, and the side where the rear fenders and gas tank meet looks like it is missing something.

I was really excited about this quad, now I'm just throwing it in with the mix of all the other quads.

Maybe I'll change my tune when the MX comes out, but I don't think they did a "fit-n-finish" that KTM usually does. Looks thrown together to me.

My good ridding buddy is going to get one, maybe when I see one in person I'll like it. I do like the motor (KTM makes the best) and the anti vibe stem, and a couple of other standard features, but I was looking for the big bang, I got a pop.

The lights are a semi-moot point. Look at the z400 and the hoods they make for them. They allow the light to be protected and covered unless you need them.

Where the rear fenders meet the gas tank: the gap appears to be access to the subfram mounting bolt and the upper shock bolt without removing the plastic.

I think the stator also puts out 200 watts which is quite a bit.
