They tested these mew ds450's at I-81 motorsports park in Greenville,Tn. Me and my friends live about 30 minutes from there and ride there alot. Some of those doubles and table tops are pretty big on a atv and they seem to be getting over them good with the new ds. I am all for more 450's.

i was thinking the same thing. that may be a big issue once people start jumping them and all sorts of stuf. they will prolly end up breaking.

Nah it's fine. They are both connected to a steel bracket that's connected to the subframe. They just happen to share a bolt. The plastic is not supporting the pipe. The steel bracket is supporting both the pipe and the plastic.

that is a prototype pipe (for testing not the final version that Sparks will be produceing)

but as far as holding that bike has been jumped alot with no problems
over jumped 100ft double and landed in a flat with no problems

The only thing I don't like about the pipe is the routing. I don't like how it goes from the right side of the engine around the back and under the EFI and then to the left rear side of the quad. Pipes get hot and hot air rises, and the hotter the fuel the less dense. Less dense fuel creates less power. The pro bike mxers used to have containers that the outside was filled with dry ice and inside would be the gas, and would top off the bikes with it.

I just really like how the front shocks mount. It doesn't look like it will have that "roll" in the front-end like the Honda has. I think a lot of the handling problems with the other 450s is that the center of gravity is too high. If you will look at the 250r, the shocks mount higher comparied to the 450s if you see it from how much weight is above the upper mount. Thats what makes them not turn all that great. I think BRP has really made Suzuki and Kawasaki look bad and the KTM is in a different class compared to the Honda and Yamaha. As far as KTM goes, their XC bikes have always been the **** IF you are willing to pay MSRP for one. Thats why most end up with a YZ250 or WR450/250F or a Honda 450/250X. It will probably end up being the same with the new quad.

Im sorry. But that quad is butt ugly. YFZ is the best lookin quad.

Do I hear an echo in here???

Why not put it on the right side? Perhaps the right side drive allowed for a more balanced weight distribution, or a more compact countershaft assembly (weight).

Does it matter? It makes no difference really.
