I ride total woods and like to hillclimb, would droping one tooth up front from the stock gearing on it now be worth it?

I dropped a tooth on mine also, seemed to help, but I'm actually thinking of going down another tooth on top of that.

I would definately drop one tooth in the front. What size tires are you running. If running 20s or larger, you might want to go a bit larger in the rear also. If you just drop two teeth in the front, you will most likely need to shorten your chain. But by going smaller in the front and larger in the rear, you probably won't have to change the chain's length.

Of course you will loose some speed on the top but the lower gearing is worth it in my opinion. I rarely ride in areas open enough to hit top speed anyway.
