Can you put the electrict starter from a WR400/426 on a YZF400/426?? Dont wanna have to hack the plastics, unless Arens makes a flip top subframe....

Welll....if the WR426F came with elec start, then I am sure it would....

Now maybe your thinkin about the new 03 WR450F,which is elec start.....And I am not certain, but i doubt the elec start from the new wr-f would fit the older 426F's,since the 03's are a diffrent designcause if you look at the side covers, there diff..

I don't think it will work either. The yz426f's have a decompresion lever....and all that junk. and i think the WR motors are diff.

I am pretty sure the motors are almost the same. Didnt the previous year WR come in elec start?

Naa Bro

....the 1998-2002's(well the 1998-2000 WR's were 400's,and the 01-02 are 426's...) DID NOT come with Elec start, they have lights, and all,but there still kick Start..the only diff in motor's is the WR has a Wide Ratio tranny, giving it a lil more top end.....

Now the 2003 WR450F's DO have elec. start, but i am pretty sure that the 02 and 03 motor's are diffrent..because after looking at the case's,the 03's have a diffrent design...

and besides, after a few mods, the WR-F starts up pretty quick,w/ one kick.....

yeah the 02 and 03 motors are different. the yz450 has a 4 speed transmission in it and there are other changes..i think the motor is new from the ground up actually.
