So when I hit good sized doubles my bike bottoms out and scrapes the frame and nerf bars. I stiffened my shocks up what else should I do? It is an 05 450r do I need to send the springs off to get redone?

Have you adjusted the comp screw at the top of the shock? rider weight has alot to do with it also.

I think that I have more tweaking to do I am not familiar with all of it. I am about 170# and ride some mx and some trails. I want to be able to hit some nice sized jumps without bottoming out. should I try making sure the settings are at stock?

I am sure that you need to adj your comp which is the screw on the top of the shock w/the rezi, turn it in about a 1/4 of a turn at a time then hit some jumps and see how it feels, if you do 1 full turn it can some times be to much, think of the screw as a 12hr clock each adj helps a little so don't go overboard.

Send them in to get rebuilt @ C&D or GT Thunder or Derisi. They will be worlds better. Be aware that you will bottom out no matter what and you SHOULD bottom out once in a while. If you dont bottom shocks out once in a while they are set up too stiff.

I have an 05 with stock sus. and when i land the jumps perfect on the landing it lands smooth as glass. biggest one where i ride is a little over 60ft tabletop with over 6ft takeoff and if i land perfect it is smooth and never bottoms out. but i weigh 150 pounds, and weight can make a huge difference on how hard or smooth you land

Is it hard on the shocks to bottom out often? I have PEP n bottom sometimes if i land goofy. But i was just wondering how rough it is on them?
