No!!! theres a noise!!!

Well, I think i am about to be a victim of crank bearing failure. There is NOTHING in the oil on either side but when I try to start it, and it doesnt start, somethines there is a grinding like noise when i kick her. Like i can feel it on my foot. Can this me the bearing?

umm.. could be. My buddys 05 r did the same thing except his had aluminum shavings in the oil. We tore into it and found big chunks of aluminum. then we took the cylinder off, to reveal that one of the aluminum washers on the crank that keeps the rod tight had sheared off. The largest chunk was laying on top of the crankshaft and was catching every once in a while.

pull the clutch cover and see if its ok in there. after you messed around with the recluse

This time when i threw a lower rod bearing i heard it in the bottom end clanging and banging as the engine ran. Than it would hang up and shut off on its own. so i think youll know when its shot. Usually its a definate if theres shavings. If theres no shavings at all it could be something else. Only way to find out is to tear it down and inspect. Or just ride it till something lets loose but i wouldnt do that.

see the noise/hittign went away after i rode after throwing my pipe on. IDK. Im just gonna keep on riding it like I stole it and if something lets loose, just gives me more of a reason to put a +3 stroker,...:D
