has anyone every riden from galmis to gordons well down the sand highway ? might try it do we need extra gas? ....

I rode from Ogilby Road (near Gordon's) to Glamis..thru the dunes, to Boardmanville,(for a beer) and jammed back to camp along Ted Kipf Road(railroad tracks) and had to hit reserve the last 2 miles. It was REAL close.

I've never done it on the sand hiway.

thanks for the info .i'm going to be there all next week thought that might be a cool ride .did'nt know if i would have enough gas ..

I have done it more times than I can remember. I run a large tank and I always run out on the way back.........CARRY GAS!

I see all these pictures of Glamis and it makes me want to go more

Ahh who knows.......I have a ton of pictures....just to lazy to edit them then upload them......I'll get a wild hair up my ***** one day and finish my site......

Probably the cheapest and easiest way to carry extra gas is to call Rocky Mountain ATV and order the "out-N-back rack" comes with a 1 gal jug.....something like $60 bux or so. My dad had one on his 88 250r. That has saved his *** MANY times. If you know you're not going on a super long ride, leave the can at camp, and just put on your cooler. Strap on the gas can, when you make the "round trip".


Cheap insurance.

I used to do Gorman once a week ........ for years ........ back in the day. Now I only go up there in the winter or when I am really wanting to trail ride. Seems evertime I go there now I break something on my person or my bike.

We camp at the end of Gecko road and ride to pair a dice by Gordans all the time. Gas is never a problem. Let me know when you are going and I will take you.
