Right now my rearend is sitting right at 47" wide. I have already flipped my spacers on my axle to the outside of the hub. My douglas .190s are still making this thing pretty wide. I was wondering if flipping these would cause any damage. I have only heard that flipping factory wheels and only on the front would casue problems. My front end is fine but My rear end bounces off trees like a ping pong ball. Im trying to avoid buying a whole new shorter axle. Or is 47" pretty good? How wide are everyones bikes that are setup for cross country racing.

47 is on the wide side, but it not too bad. flipping your wheels would help, but it will make it way narrower than you want

Flip the wheels around and then put the spacers back on the hubs. 45-46" is about right for XC. Wider tracks I'm about 46 and narrow tracks it's in the 44 range.
