im NOT trying to start a yamaha vs. honda war... haha

just switched from 06' yamaha 450 to 07' honda 450... i always ran klotz mx4 10w/40 in my yamaha... what kind of oil are you guys running in your honda, my buddy runs syn. blend maxima in his 450r but i don't like maxima...

I run the klotz 10-40 mx4 in the engine side and klotz gear oil 80w in the tranny side

Amsoil is the way to go.

castrol syntec in engine and honda gear oil in the tranny.

Shell Rotella T non-syn 15w40 in BOTH sides.

haha, pretty much what ever you want to run in your 450 go for it. they say car oil with the energy saving label is no good for them tho.

its no good for the tranny side, as it makes the cluth slip. The oil that honda recomends has moly(the car stuff that makes cluthes slip) in it for use for the engne side.

I used to use Amsoil but the price kept going up. Used to get it for like $6 a quart, now its almost $10.

Now I'm using Rotella T 5w40 in the engine and Rotella T non-syn 15-40 in the trans.
$13 a gallon.
