hey guys ive been here for awhile with the screen name yellow05250ex but i somehow deleted it. anyway, i was thinking about getting rid of the Z for a 450 but i changed my mind and figured id do some work with this. i have a few questions..1)is the 435 athena kit worth it? is it reliable? if so thats most likely what ill go with 2) With cams what is the different between the stage 1 and stage 2's? all i can find is stage 1's for my the Z. 3)what else should i do while im at it? im gonna step up to a bigger radiator when the time comes. 4) should i upgrade the clutch or will that be fine? 5) what carb should i go with also?

thanks alot in advance for all the help

i dont have the athena kit but i do have the weisco 440 sleeve kit wich is a real 440 not a 435! only about $200 with a 121/2-1 or 131/2-1 piston and all the goodies for a top end rebuild( losts of power gain) you dont need the carb, yes it will be an improvement but not a necessity. (opinion) i have the hot cams stage 1 intake and exhaust but not sure what the difference is? hope this helps brother and saves you some money.:) oh while you have the motor open you can port and polish the head, new valves and also your stock clutch is fine with all the upgrades

I bought a 450 kit from lukesracing. I got the stage 2 cams with it. I also bought a FCR 40 carb from service honda. ported the head and put DRZ valve springs because the stock ones would be floating in the upper rpms. I'm also running on the stock clutch and its an 03. I recommend Lukes good guys to deal with.
