hey all,

when i was replacing my brake pads, the fronts went fine but in order to get the rear caliper piston in, I had to loosen the e-brake bolt almost all of the way out...is this normal?

can you reccomend a good brand? the damn thing doesnt work anyways

all the block off plate is is a block of aluminum to pretty it up and protect that area from the elements. no one brand is better than any other....go with price or looks for that

do you just get rid of the cable at the same time? If so, it will give me an excuse to get a new clutch perch

take the cable off too...i have always just used my stock perch...everything is covered by handguards so you can't see the uglyness left behind anyway...of course it soun ds like oyu want a new perch any way so go for it

People have had problems with the lonestar ones causing the bolt to hang up and drag on their brakes. Search for it.

did not know that...never heard that before...

i have a mod quad one on my 450r...it went on as soon as i brought the bike home...never rode the bike without it...my rear brakes seem weak, not even as strong as those on my 400ex...and no where near as strong as lonestar_r's 450r...i have bled the brakes, put on a stainless line, which helped a little, but still not where they shoud be...i wonder if that is the problem...

What bolt?

Sparky_20, If you get a new lever & perch connect the two wires that go to the safety switch. If you don't you'll have to put the quad in neutral to start it. The negative is the quad will start in gear without the lever pulled in.

did you pay more for the hotstart version... i hope not since the 400ex don't have a hotstart

ahhhhhhh ****ty. I thought that would elminate the need for splicing the two wires together...its all good ill change it. Thanks for the heads up!

while we are at it, can you explain what hotstart is?

a hotstart is most commonly used on kickstart bikes. think of it as kind of a choke to aid in starting a hot bike
