Overall I think it will be a really nice bolt on mod.

With my big buttocks on it it seems like there is a slight hesitation when going from idle to wide open. There is an initial surge when touching the throttle but then a very slight hesitation then pulls hard all the way.

The guy who does a lot of work on my bikes says it feels really good to him, but if I was going to tinker with it where would I start. Now with my kid who is about 115 lbs lighter than me...there may be nothing. Either way he is going to see a decent difference.

I have it jetted pretty dang close. It is not tan but it is a lighter brown. Mocha or taupe would be my description. It is the stock MJ which I think is a 107. Sounds almost like a pilot or clip issue...more inclined toward pilot but would be unsure up or down.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Need to see how it reacts with your child on it first. The eng. will have less weight to pull of the line so the slight bog will most likely go away.

How much compression are you running now?

I put a 175 psi head on our drx2 90 wc but i havent done the carb mod yet. when ran 100 octane fuel with 100 main jet 42 pilot. it was muddy but it does come out of the corners better and a good hole shot. i will give another update when we have a dry track.

what kind of set up are you guy's running?

im kind of in the same boat

Is this for a 50 or a 70 air or water. i also just got a hc head to try but im running the mikuni 16 on a 50 air . im waiting on the oko 21 carb and intake. im wondering if i should try the head with the 16 first then see if i need the 21 what do you all think. my boy weights in at 43 lbs. i was also told to run two spark plug washers to move the plug out a little from hitting the piston running 8hs plug . Up octane to about 102 -103 . imput requested as well.

I am using the Drx2 90 with the 24mm OKO

I have not done the carb mod and am hesitant to do so until more information is out there.

There are diffrent types of compression testers out and some give a false reading it depenpends where the ck valve is located. MAC makes the most accurate one out, the ck valve needs to be nearest to the plug hole not up by the gauge. Just a little fyi.
Also port timing can be an issue on the DRR mainly on the LC models. We will be cking that out here soon.

Thanks t

the stock main jet and pilot jet were rich from the factory , you should be able to lean both jets ( down ) till the plug is light tan for best performance. I would try a 102 or 103 main and run the bike, it could eliminate your bog also.

I will have to post a pic of my plug to make sure I am still good to lean it out some.

Hey Kenjolly

Where did you find the high compression liquid head? I am trying to find one or get mine milled. Looking at a schematic milling these heads is going to take alot of work. If I could buy another one I may do that.

i would be glad to tell you but i dont know it kinda just showed up on my door step, maybe a distributor or drr not sure. you can send your head to one of several engine builders and the can build your stock one for you.

i really would tell you if i knew for sure.

HOT QUADS has the hi comp heads for the 70cc and the 90cc watercooled , but I just sent him my head and cyl and he worked them and raised compression, just takes a little down time ...

Ken,
With higher compression better bottom end, with porting more hp. Be careful who states they are porting your cyl. there are a lot of people who think porting is a cleaned up cyl. there is a lot that goes into porting a cyl.

ya we are, the first round of mods will cost me about 1000.00 just for motor work, plus clutch, reeds and whatever else i find.i understand the reason for the class, but no matter what the class someone is still going to cheat.

let me get off my box i have a race to get ready for.
