So a while ago i had an 2005 trx450r brand new and ended up replacing 50% of the parts on it

So i found a frame with papers for 350$ so i think i will build a quad starting from scratch over the winter.. has anyone had experiences with that

thank you

I bought my son a 400ex with a cracked and bent frame, it took about 2 hours to tear down, and about three to put back together. Using mostly hand tools, and a few air tools. We didn't replace any bearings or bushings they were good. It helps to take pics and have the right tools. The big scocket for the hubs, and large wrenches for the axle nuts. Also spray some wd-40 on the tough nuts and bolts, or any that are rusted. Good luck.

i took my 250r down to the frame and rebuilt it. I did it during the winter whenever i had time or was just bored...the 250r was easy because there isnt no extra wires or parts...it wasnt that hard, and it was alot of fun...youll respect your quad more once u got it all back together

i built my last 250r from the frame up. i got parts from ebay and off of here to build the entire thing. you can set it up the way you want to the first time, some parts will be hard to find so you might have to buy new from honda. it took me 4 months to track down all the parts, powder and build mine

good luck with the build, create a thread of the buildup if you do it and post lots of photos. heres what i turned out with

i built my 50 from the ground up getting all the parts off forums..

TIP: if you do a build and go on ebay for anything. do not get knockoff parts.

i plan on starting a 110 build and a hybrid 250r build from the ground up.

i'm not sure on the cost of building a 450 up because most of your money will go to a motor, depending on a new or used motor your still looking at least spending 1500.

dont hold me to this but with all used aftermarket parts it might be something along the lines of ...
frame, motor, intake, exhaust 2500
fenders, tank, seat 350
stem, bars, controls 300
shocks 1000
swingarm, linkage, carrier 600
axle, hubs, antifade, sprokets, brakes 400
a-arms, spindles, hubs, brakes 600
wheels & tires 300

at least you could have it setup the way you want and powdered how you want the first time around.
