View Full Version : Float Bowl Help !

bought a 05yfz 450 used, went to take off the float bowl cover on the underside of the carb and 1 of the screws is stripped in there,,,i got it out, put the 3 back and seems not tobe leaking,, what can you tell me is the BEST fix for this ? re tap it ? loctite the screw in every time ?

So the threaded hole in the carb body itself is stripped?
Usually what I see is the phillips heads on the screws let go.

its a flat head screw and carb part is stripped with the screw.

Hmmm... you might could drill it out and heli coil it, I am just not sure they make them that small.
All the stock ones I have seen were philips head screws, maybe someone replace yours with one that was slightly different, resulting in the stripped thread?
I replace the stock screws on ours with allen head cap screws I got at either home depot or lowes.
