just to start out i would like this to be a sticky seeing as i have been asked about this mod 4 times this week and there have been ALOT of posts about it.
i got a cbr 1100 black hawk oil cooler on ebay for about $40 (but any cbr 1100 oil cooler will work) i flushed it out and zip tied it to the upper frame bars right behind the steering stem (i plan on making mounting brackets) and i figured out that i had to make my return line to my oil tank about 3 inches longer so i maid a line (luckily a had the right size line and fittings) but you can get the right size line at most parts stores. and i hooked that line up and then i had to bend the line from the engine to the oil cooler about a half an inch or so and hooked that line up and now i have a oil cooler that is about twice the size of my old stock oil cooler

Mine holds about 6oz extra.
Dimensions of the stock 400ex cooler:
10" wide--2.5" tall--1 1/4" thick 5 pass
CBR1100 Cooler:
12" wide--3 3/4" tall--1 1/4" thick 8 pass.

There is a noticable difference in the operating temperature of the machine. Unfortunately I didn't record the before and after temps for an accurate comparison.

07250ex do you mean will the stock 400 cooler fit on the 250 if that is what you are asking then yes i actualy mounted my old one on my buddys ex with some small brackets all you need is a drill and a vise.
i don't have it done yet but i will in a week or so here is a pic i took about a week ago.

WOW!!! this thread is from 07.
I tried telling a few people about the cbr oil cooler mod.
They didnt believe me....lol.
Even if it doesnt bolt right up making brackets is a easy process.
