View Full Version : DG Frame Skidplate

I have had this thing for a year and I hate it!! When you drain your oil out of the side of the motor there isnt a hole so it goes everywhere, and everytime you want to take it off you strip the heads of the allen key mounting bolts. And the skidplate is bent to hell and back so it doesnt mount right anymore. My question is where can i order some of the allen key bolts at? I went to my hardware store and they said they didnt carry metric and another thing what is the best skidplate out there, I want one where i dont have to mess with it every ride. Thanks

Well atleast now I know Im not the only one..when I get some money PRM is getting a call I know that much...If you think you belly pan is bad try the swinger skid:cuss:

The DG Skidplate on my 400ex almost hits the ground! I have the stock 20's on the rear and everytime i hit a rock it bends really easily. I've heard the pro armour skidplates are the best.

I have beaten the **** out of my armadillo swinger skid and belly pan skid and they are tough as nails. I would definately reccomend them. I also have the a-arm skids but they dont get much action

I hate that thing I only have like 2 inches from the bottom of the skid to the ground. I am gonna get my dads friend to make me a sprocket guard kinda like the LSR deal or Im gonna go with PRM skids

drill a hole in the belly plate for the oil to drain??

and prm products are top notch...i would go with a .250 skid tho

most skidplates come with 2 oil drain spots but DG does not, and who makes a chassis skid that is .250? I have only seen .190 thickeness but prm makes a swinger skid that is .250

I don't think anyone makes a chassis skid thats .190 thickness. I do know that pro armours swingarm skid is .250 thick.

Theres alot of belly pans out there .190 thick...

lol its cool, I have good news for everyone though, if you are wondering how to fix the stripped bolts here is my solution. I went to the hardware store and got some regular 6 headed bolts, locnuts, and washers for the bolts. I just got done mounting it and I dont see how it could possibly loosen now. The only con to this is the heads of the bolts are sticking out but hey its better than the skidplate not being tight and the bolts stripped.

Armadillos are really tough too. I would get that one. You also have the drain hole for your oil....
