will paddle tires make a BIG diff in the sand?? or is it a slight diff??

Its a big difference. Depending what kind of tire you have now.

It's a big difference.

That doesn't mean you can't dune with knobbies though. I've certainly done it. You just have to ride differently and take a different approach to certain situations. There are some things that might be really hard to do with knobbies that wouldn't be a problem with paddles. Generally speaking, I'd say duning with knobbies is more challenging. Since dunes offer enough challenges all by themselves I'd recommend getting a set unless maybe it's going to be a one time deal. Rockymountain will deliver a "budget" set to your door for not too much.

yah i ridn with stocks and its a huge diference on how well u get around and how much easier it is to jump and climb the hills

First time I went to the dunes I rode with stocks it wasn't that hard.I bought paddles HUGE difference alot more fun,easier to ride.

i used to only ride with sand tires on the rear and used my mx tires up front. i changed to sand tires in the front and the difference is inreal

what about using maxxis 4-snows or ams zippers compared to razrs or a straight or angled padde?

paddle tires would prob be the best, never tried 4-snows, thanks for the input, ill have to try that

4-snows and Zippers are great for low horsepower machines where paddles would bog down the engine
