View Full Version : My worst nightmare has come true......

Well today it has happened.....

Just found out my motor is seized!!! When we put the kick start on it was imposable to start. Then we put the yz450f cam's in and it was still unusually hard to start. Then we figured it out, the rod was seized to the crank....

I figured out when I happened, my last race (budd's creek) I had the stator cover fall off causing oil to go everywhere and no oil in the motor. I didn't know how bad it was so I found a spare cover and filled it up with oil. But after riding half a moto with the cover off the damage was done. The cylinder wall has gouges all in it and the rod and crank is seized. Look like my bank account id going to be drained once again. I was supposed to buy a jeep next weekend too........

i was calling this race season "The Season From Hell", looks like its worse then that now....

AW man that's some crappy luck! I hope you can get it back togather soon so we can rip it up July 4th!

Tuff luck... Lots of money...... I bought a used 416 ex, and after 3 hours of ride time, I shattered the sleeve. Luckily I did no damage to the bottom end. But it cost me over a grand to get it running again.. Good luck on yours! :cool:

haha yea well when all yoru paycheck is goin into putting a kickstart on this thing finding out its seized and have no money to fix it is BAD, even worse cause its the middle of the race season.

This YFZ is the bike from hell, i have had so many problems with it its not even funny. Deffaintly tainted my opinion of yamaha.....

one of the bolts came loose, and it just spun on the last one and bent , OIL EVERYWHERE

Well I finally got pictures. The only ones that came out are the gouges in the cylinder wall

yea thats what i was wonderin. But damn jeff, hopefully you'll have it done in 2 weeks and u can make it down to my house to ride asap!

the top end is perfect, THANK GOD!!!!

just gonna send it to the machine shop and hone the bottem alittle bit to get everything flush.

just gotta replace the jug, cylinder, rod, crank, and all the little **** that goes with it.....
