Ok I was riding back home on the road 3/4 to wide open. Everything was going good then all of a sudden it was as if my 4 wheeler shut off? It sputtered then just died. I slowed down pushed it home and the next day I checked the spark plug, and I was getting fire. Then checked compression the wheels did hold the bike back. But the wierd thing is when I hit the starter it seems its spinning more freely than it has. Thought maybe I blew it up then drained my oil and no shavings of any kind. Then thought maybe the timing chain was locked up or off took the head off and it all seems to be in order. Need some help guys I cant figure it out. sorry bout the long post...

I think it could be a number of things.
1) Bad Gas
2) Clogged Carb Jet
3) Bad Gas tank Petcock
4) Out of Gas
5) Fuel Selector incorrectly selected
These may be "No-Brainers" but, start by trying the easy stuff first.

1. Spark
2. Timing
3. Fuel
4. Compression

Well I ran it all day and it was fine. The fuel is the first I checked off. Im thinking of putting it all back together and just trying a new plug. Im trying to refrain from taking it to a shop cause I like to know its really being fixed but I think im going to have to take it.

mine did the same thing and i did everything and couldnt find noithing wrong and it ended up being the stator, but ride it and see if it does it again but when it dies check for spark

Would that keep it from starting all together. I still cant get it to run? The stator?

I had that happen too. It turned out to be the stator as well. Somebody told me that the stator sends the signal to the coil (to tell the coil when to send spark). Sometimes a stator can go bad, causing it to send funky signals to the coil, so you will be getting spark, but at the wrong time.

check ur spark at the stator, take the stator wire off and check for spark there

This has really helped me out because I was about to spend money sending it to a shop thanks alot!...Alright when I check for spark at the stator is it the cilinder type box under the gas tank?
