Man that video really hit home . I lost a good friend to street racing long time ago. I know there is a lot of younger kids on here and remember one thing no one is superman . If you want to race go to a local drag strip in a controlled enviroment. I have built some street cars for younger kids and will not anymore . I do not want to live with that knowing i built some very fast cars and it killed or serious hurt someone. I know there is alot of beef on this board between imports and american muscle but you can be hurt in anything. Im not perfect i too ka built mustang to the street races but only a few times the risk to you but to the innocent people on the streets . You make think that it will never happen to you but one mistake is all it takes . I know there is a few adranliine junkies on here and if you want a rush take it to the track whether it be dirt , drags or road race do it there . and if you are racing now spend the extra time and money on proper safety equipment . I dont car if you are 14 sec car take the time and money and get a good set of belts and helmet at the minium. Everytime i get in a dirt car whether its required or not i have my firesuit gloves helmet and neck brace. You may not believe a word I say and thats your call but if one person does this its worth the time to write this out . I recently hit a wall at around 80 and i was in some serious pain but if i wasint wearing my neck brace i would be alot worse

Great topic and very good post Tat900 .

Like it was said , if you want to race take it to a track , not the street .

A kid here in town last year because of street racing . He was out riding his bike with his friend when a car that was street racing struck him from behind . The driver of the car was only 16 .... he now has a criminal record , a 10 year license ban and a curfew and probation period.

It's too bad that the video doesn't show the victims families and how torn apart they are . It's these kinds of images that might turn a kid or anyone away from street racing .

True racers take it to the track .

Wannabes race light to light.

I also knew polk from polk performance here in arkansas . He built some of the most insane rx7's and supras around. He was on the show pipes on espn 2 then lost control of one of his cars and now is gone best head man I knew it ws unreal what peformance gains he could get out of just siome headwork but now his family is alone and devastated . We tried forever to get him in a dirt car but he loved building fast street cars and paid the price . Real race cars are jsut that for race tracks only. Im not perfect as I said before took a built big block stang out for a few nights but I know the risks were not worth it

I lost a good friend of mine Tom Leck on 3-5-06, wasnt street racing but he was doing 110mph in a van and there was a slight curve in the road and went down in the ditch, before he could turn out he hit a driveway, the van got airborn and barrle rolled in the air and on the ground, he was the passenger he got ejected 130ft through a barb-wire fence and landed in a cow pasture where he died soon after, the driver another one of my friends peter got ejected when the van hit ground and the van rolled over him and he broke nearly every bone except his back and neck, he is alive and fully recovered now ..
