View Full Version : How to drain colant? anyone have a special way?

hey guys..... im sure i could figure it out but wanted to get some tips before i get the coolant all over haha.

anyone have a good way to do it without making a mess?

There is a drain bolt in the water pump housing. It is the only bolt that has a sealing washer on it. Take the radiator cap off then take the drain bolt out. It will gush out so be ready.

The above post is the easy/correct way of draining.

Don't forget to clean up any spilled coolant where ever you choose to remove it from. Most coolant has a sweet taste, odor that dogs & cats are attracted to. It WILL kill what ever drinks it.

use a big bucket or bowl to catch most of it, then pour in some distilled water to flush most of it out, then fill full with distilled water and let the quad idle and warm up then drain again, it helps clean it out really good, and when its almost all out tip the quad up some so u get it all out, thats what i did when i put engine ice in works great
