I have a TC Nationals 926 I just did a rebulid but the cam is not new I used it last year At 1st the motor would not start. I found that the right side exsust valve was way to tight but to get it to .005 I have to back the set screw real far out almost all the way out :eek2: after that it started right up but ticked real bad so I took the rocker box off and the rockers are working fine do you think the cam is bad? any one else ever have this prob?? any help would be grate!

Does this cam have the decompressor mechanism?

i had a 400 that did that as well. it did the exact same thing as you described. it turned out to be the decompressor mechanism on the cam. so i would double check

This cam dose not have the spring in it but it dose have a pice behind the sprocket that spins and that is what is keeping the rocker tight.

Seems like you have need to put your stock decomp spring and pin back in.. by the sounds of it.. that cam is more like a stock cam with decomp..

Yep, just as I thought, I think the decompressor is holding that valve open...

What dose all this mean? is there a way to get the valve to .005? or do I need to get a spring and pin? will it work with out the spring and pin??
