I ordered a set of shock covers for the first time for my 05 450r rebuild, but I have not received them yet. That being said, I need to know how the shock covers go on to the shock-do they slip on the them, meaning that I should wait to put on the shocks, or do they "wrap" around the shock, meaning that they can go on with the shocks already on the bike. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Depends on which style you bought. Zipper/Velcro wrap around. It's only taking one bolt out to slip the covers on.

Id wait to put them on, so you can get them nice and tight, especially the rear.

most are velcro. you can put the shocks on the front however on the 400ex the rear is the biggest pain in the ***** ever. i waited till i took my sub frame off to get it pcd then i put my rear on.

Thanks for the replies, I am pretty sure they are wrap around. Still not 100%, but I may just put on the shocks now and make the changes later after I get everything set.

Nice bike BTW.
