Where to get HRC needle? and ROSSIER OWNERS!!!!

My pipe will be here tuesdaya nd Rossier told me to install the HRC needle. He said it wont work without it, is that true? ALso what is your jetting. I have main jets sizes 180,185, and 188 so i think im good to go on the mains. I need to get a 50 pilot i think. Where can i get the HRC needle?

You might have to order the entire HRC jet kit from your dealer. I would do 50 pilot, 175-180 main, and 4th clip on the HRC.

If you have a 06 450R, I was running a 48 pilot with a 168 main with the Rossier and porting, no lid, HRC cam.

It says 05 in his sig... but if he is running an 06 he can pick up a CRF450 needle instead of the HRC

yea its an 05.I will be running no lid. Is there any way to use the stock needle?

Yeah, you can run the stock needle, you are just not able to adjust it enough, you can drop it to the 4th or 5th position, but you are not going to have the change in Taper!

The 04/05s have adjustable needles Dave.

I know on mine I run 5th clip down, my buddy however had to run 5th clip down on the HRC just to get it to stop stumbling!!! I would just run 5th clip down on the stocker, should be good to go.

My bad, I thought the HRC needle added adjustability.

I did not think the stocker was adjustable, but I stand corrected!

Stockers on the 04/05 carbs are adjustable, the ones on the 06+ are not. The CRF needle is though which works in the 06+ FCR carbs.


The HRC is a different taper for the 04/05 carbs than the stock needle, and like I said my buddy couldn't even use the stock needle on the 5th clip with spacers added as well, once he switched to the HRC on the 5th clip it cleared out.

i bought just an HRC needle from a dealer. you just need the part number. i don't remember what it is.

I didn't think you could get just the HRC needle, I think it comes in a $25 kit with the main, the needle and possibly the pilot, its been a while since we ordered ours so I dont recall.
